I'm Alia Nichol - a perpetually curious engineer based in the Greater Toronto Area, who is fascinated by how things work, how people experience them, and how they can be made better.

I've worked across both large engineering organizations and small teams, helping turn rough ideas and messy problems into tangible designs that can be built, tested, and used by real people. I enjoy the hard problems, asking the right questions, and I put my heart into the things I do. This website is a collection of the projects and experiences that have shaped my journey thus far.

Curiosity tends to follow me outside of work. I'm a self-taught UX/UI designer and photographer, and depending on the season, you'll probably find me cycling, skiing, rock climbing, practicing yoga, or convincing myself I need another hobby. Scuba diving is my latest obsession - and increasingly, a prerequisite for wherever I travel.

I speak English and French, I'm learning Spanish, and I have an unreasonable appreciation for good matcha and tiramisu.
